Unpack and identify the hardware
Lay the shade on a clean surface. Match every bracket, screw, cover, remote, and tension device to the included parts list before drilling.
DIY installation guide
This general guide shows the installation flow for Zebra Shades. Your exact bracket, cassette, motor, and wall material may require different steps, so always keep the instructions packed with your shade beside you.

Before you drill
Bracket position
The mount type must match the measurements and order. Use these diagrams only for orientation, then follow the exact spacing in your product instructions.
Keep both brackets at the same front-to-back depth so the cassette sits straight. Check that screws will not hit glass, wiring, or hidden hardware.
Zebra Shade installation
Work in order. Stop if any part looks different from the instructions included with your shade.
Lay the shade on a clean surface. Match every bracket, screw, cover, remote, and tension device to the included parts list before drilling.
Use the bracket spacing shown in the instructions for your exact cassette. Keep brackets clear of the motor, chain mechanism, and any center support location.
Check both bracket marks with a level. For an outside mount, also confirm the shade is centered over the opening before making pilot holes.
Use the correct bit and anchor for wood, drywall, tile, plaster, or masonry. Tighten the brackets securely without deforming them.
Follow the lock direction shown on the bracket. Most systems engage one edge first, then click or rotate the other edge into place. Do not force it.
Lower and raise the shade slowly. Confirm the cassette is secure, the fabric tracks evenly, and the Zebra bands align without rubbing the frame.
Finish by control type
Secure the supplied chain tension device exactly as instructed. The chain should move freely but must not hang loose.
Use the supplied motor instructions for charging, remote pairing, direction, and upper or lower limits. Motor procedures vary by system.
If something feels wrong
Confirm both brackets face the same direction, screw heads are fully seated, and the cassette is engaging the correct edge first.
Stop operating it. Recheck that the brackets are level and the cassette is fully locked into every bracket.
Charge the motor, confirm the remote battery, then follow the supplied pairing or reset steps for that motor system.

Before installation
Use the Zebra-first measuring guide before placing an order. Keep every window labeled separately.
